The congress will be held in person only.

 

REGISTRATION TYPES AND FEES

^*SPCAL members will only be eligible for the reduced Congress fee if they have paid their SPCAL membership fee for 2026 before September 1^st.

 

All types of registrations include access to all Congress sessions, lunches and coffee-breaks. The Congress dinner, is not included in the registration fee and will have a cost of €55.

SPCAL REGISTRATION FELLOWSHIPS

The Board of SPCAL decided to provide 4 (four) fellowships for SPCAL members to support the participation of 2 students and 2 technicians, studying or working in the field of Laboratory Animals Sciences.

Each fellowship corresponds to the registration fee for the VI SPCAL Congress.

 

CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS for formalizing the application.

Candidates must:

1. Have SPCAL membership up to date (have paid for the year 2026 before September 1^st, 2026);
2. Submit a Motivation letter to participate in the referred event (with a maximum of 250 words);
3. Preference will be given to applicants presenting proof of submission of an abstract

 

Applications must be submitted by email to spcal@spcal.pt with the following elements, by September 25^th, 2026:

1. Identification [full name; institution and unit (if applicable); name of supervisor (if student)]
2. Copy of the abstract submitted, of which you are the first or last author (when applicable);
3. Motivation letter to participate in the event (with a maximum of 250 words);
4. Proof of status (course attended or occupation and institution);
5. Brief curriculum vitae, a maximum of two A4 pages, with the information that you consider to be of greater relevance in the field of Laboratory Animals Sciences or professional practice in animal facilities.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

If the number of accepted candidates exceeds the number of fellowships available, the following criteria will be privileged:

• Candidates from different Institutions
• Motivation letter
• Submited abstract
• First time attending a SPCAL Congress

Situations not foreseen will be analyzed on a case-by-case basis by the SPCAL Board.

 

We call your attention to the following

a) applications received after the deadline will not be accepted;

b) appeals will not be considered by the SPCAL Board;

c) Selected candidates will have to communicate the acceptance (or refusal) of the fellowship, replying to an e-mail from SPCAL communicating the award of the fellowship (communication made through the e-mail address spcal@spcal.pt).
